Joyce is an Advanced Practice Nurse and Acting Assistant Director of Nursing in the Nursing Clinical Service at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital. A firm believer in the role of high functioning nursing teams, she is part of a Pediatric Diabetes Care Team that provides care with an emphasis on active engagement with patient/caregiver, effective communication to educate and empowering knowledge / skills acquisition for self-care.
She is a Certified Diabetes Educator since 2004 received her Doctor of Nursing Practice in 2018. Her special interest in childhood diabetes spurs numerous abstracts and posters presented in both local and international meetings with a focus on education and self-care. Beyond clinical and nursing duties, her patient care philosophy embraces medical information and education as a form of therapy in living with diabetes.
